By how much do antibiotics reduce the effectiveness of birth control?
So…my question is: by how much do antibiotics reduce the effectiveness of birth control?
Cephalexin (antibiotic) and Lutera (birth control)
Probably not by a lot – there is some (mostly older) data that shows certain antibiotics may reduce the efficacy of birth control pills (cefalexin isn't one of them, incidentally), but the evidence isn't that great. it is certainly a possibility, given how the body's basal functions may be disrupted by illness alone, not to mention disruption by any medications, but the studies that have been done regarding these effects have not shown conclusive proof of an effect. it is still widely suggested that women use a back-up contraceptive method while taking antibiotics, though this is probably more from a "better safe than sorry" standpoint. if you're worried, use a condom/some other barrier method while you are on the antibiotic (or also do a home pregnancy test if this is something that has already occurred), but I wouldn't worry about it too much.
Everything i've ever read about it said the difference is usually less than 1 percent of birth controls normal effective percent, but that can differ woman to woman so it is always best to use a secondary contraceptive while taking antibiotics.
Cheap extra-large condoms?
Strangely enough, even though I am 21, I think that having my firstborn made me have something of a growth spurt. my wife and I didn't have to use condoms while she was pregnant obviously, but now that the baby's out she's especially fertile, and the Trojan Magnums I used to wear don't fit any more. so I looked up online, and the only alternative I could find was Magnum XL's, and those cost over a DOLLAR A CONDOM plus I'd have to have it shipped because they weren't stocking it at any places locally. is there no source for me to get some XL's shipped free, or something? my college doesn't distribute contraceptives. I know this **** is ridiculously personal, but I researched it and I'm not finding the answers I wanted or I would not be asking for answers on here.
if i were you i would just save up and buy the more expensive condoms.
when it comes to condoms, cheaper usually means the quality is lower, and when it comes to baby making, low quality is a No-No
There are a few things you shouldnt be cheap about…potential babies and life long diseases is one..Dont be cheap

Condom Family Planning and Contraceptive Product: Low Price Pink Silicone Lubricant For Women.

This lube is by far the best Ive ever tried! it does not smell, it crazy slippery and its not sticky. Ive tried it with several different types of condoms, the most recent one being the Lifestyle Skyn and its like not having a condom on at all. it comes in two bottles, I have the plasic version because im worried I may drop and break the glass one, this stuff is really slippery. The twist cap isnt so bad but you can lose the top cover that goes on it after awhile so its better that it twist to lock and keep from spilling. This stuff last for as long as you need it too and is good for exploring other areas also. get more detail about Pink Silicone Lubricant For Women..
