Razor Bumps in Ladies – A Common Annoyance

Razor Bumps in Ladies A Common Annoyance razor bumps pseudofolliculitis barbae pimples hairs curling challenges

We always associate razor bumps with men especially men of color because they are most vulnerable. These are annoying dark pimples and bumps that are common in the areas where we regularly shave namely the chin, cheek and around the bikini area. their clinical term is pseudofolliculitis barbae and they are a result of hair which has been shaved re-growing, curling then re-entering the skin causing painful pimples. These can sometimes become infected and inflammed causing a considerable degree of discomfort. Women too have their share of challenges from these annoying pimples but there are ways in which they can be eradicated.

Sometimes, chemical imbalances in some women can result in hair growing in unusual places such as under the chin. this is more common than we realize. for some, this is just a matter of plucking the few unruly hairs with a pair of tweezers and they’re done. for others this is a much more serious problem because the hair regrows with a vengeance. It then curls and pierces the skin again causing redness and irritation. The reason this irritation occurs is because the body does not recognize this re-entry of its own hair as its own and fights the culprit the same way it would fight a foreign object. that results in the inflammation and painful pus that is usually characteristic of razor bumps in women.

There are a few steps a woman can take to tackle this problem:

Take a nice warm bath before shaving
This is recommended because it results in the hair becoming smooth and soft. The skin is also softer after a warm shower and it then responds better to shaving. this works well whether the area being shaved is under the chin or in the bikini area.

What type of razor are you using?
One of the reasons why razor bumps appear is because of reusing a razor. a good majority of women reuse their razor at least 6 times before they replace it. this is unhygienic and a major reason for painful bumps. this is because an old razor has already lost its edge and does not cut close therefore the hairs that have been chopped off still retain a sharp rugged edge which then regrows and re-enters the body. It is recommended that you purchase new razors and avoid reusing razors as much as possible.

Also, use stainless steel, tempered steel razors which have one blade. It is eroneously thought that double razors or triple razors do a better job. this is controversial and has never been adequately proven.

Gels and cremes
Use shaving and cremes when shaving. there are many excellent shaving cremes and gels at your local pharmacy store such as Walgreens and CVS. there are also others that are high end but the mid-prized brands can do just fine.

Laser treatment
If you have extra money to spare and you need hair permanently removed, there is no better way to do this than with laser treatment. While this costs more than shaving, it is nevertheless the best way if you want to get rid of unwanted hair permanently.

Can I use a tweezer to pluck a kind of large unibrow?

Can I use a tweezer to pluck a kind of large unibrow? straight line question index hairs

I have a unibrow. I want to pluck it but some people say you should only pluck if its not that many hairs. I don't want to wax or anything else, so can I pluck it? It's not like a straight line, but it has more hair than the usual unibrow. Help please!

don't wax it unless you know how to make it look natural, cause a guy at my school waxed between his brows (he didn't even hav a unibrow) and for the next couple of weeks everyone made fun of him. and pluck it, it'll hurt, but it's probably the way to go

I think that if you tweeze it then it gets worse when they grow back
you really need to wax it, its best for u cause it will hurt less and it will prevent ur unibrow hair from growing faster and thicker…(which happens with the tweezer)

please answer mine : answers.yahoo.com/question/index?…

I would wax it professionally if i were you. they don't really hurt. but you can pluck it if you want to, its not a force. you should get a eyebrow liner so it doesn't turn out messed up :]

Yea you can definitly pluck, but itll be kinda time consuming. As long as you do it one hair at a time you'll be good.

It would be better if you waxed but yeah you can pluck it(:

Ya, you can tweeze it.

you can but it will probably hurt more that way icon razz Can I use a tweezer to pluck a kind of large unibrow? straight line question index hairs and take a lot of time depending icon razz Can I use a tweezer to pluck a kind of large unibrow? straight line question index hairs

Braun Series 7 790cc Shaver – Is it the Best Shaver? Find Out Now

Braun Series 7 790cc Shaver Is it the Best Shaver? Find Out Now straight razor hairs closeness braun

There are basically two types of electric shavers: foil and rotary. the one most closely like a straight razor as far as closeness is concerned are the foil shavers, like the Braun Series 7 790cc shaver. however they do have problems with longer hairs. the rotary shavers on the other hand do well with longer hairs and difficult ares like the chin and neck but don’t cut as close.

Neither the foil or the rotary shavers shave as close as a manual razor. Of course the downside of a manual razor is that it is removing the top layer of your skin which means your face is wounded. they also tend to create nicks and cuts. so in order to have healthy skin you should be using a foil or rotary shaver. that said let’s take a look at the two.

A poll was conducted and a slight majority of men preferred the foil shaver over the rotary since it was less irritating to the skin. the downside of the foil is that it is more delicate and is easier to break. Rotary shavers are sturdier so tougher to break but they are also more difficult to clean. Testers at which? found that their isn’t a whole lot of difference of the two types of shavers. But a review by Australia’s Choice magazine found that the foil shavers are preferred overall. the foil shaver that tops this list is the Braun Series 7 790cc shaver.

One thing you might not be thinking about is the noise a shaver makes. after all the first thing in the morning it might be a bit annoying to have to listen to a loud shaver. the rotary shavers are generally quieter than foil shavers. In particular the Philips Norelco shavers are well insulated, if not high-pitched. an exception to this is the Braun Series 7 790cc shaver which has a low noise level.

The experts say you should look at four things:

  • Rather than getting an inexpensive generic model, get a quality brand with fewer features.
  • A shaver should feel comfortable in your hand and not overly vibrate or be noisy.
  • Get a model with a 30 day money-back guarantee since that is how long it will take your face to get used to the shaver.
  • Get a model that has a quick charge and a long charge life.

Take a look at my review of the Braun Series 7 790cc and I think you will find that it meets these requirements easily, which is probably why it is the top rated shaver on the market today.

Men’s Manicure Sets

Mens Manicure Sets sturdy construction nails hairs fingernails emery board care essentials

Men’s manicure sets or kits have been available for a number of years, and have not really changed, except the tools are now mostly made from stainless steel. The designs of the tools are more streamlined and fashionable as a result of modern manufacturing processes, but their use is still much the same. Man’s manicuring needs have not changed much. we are much the same as we were hundreds of year ago

So, what can one expect in a good manicure set? The answer is simply, we can expect the tools that one requires for the various grooming tasks. Basic manicure sets or kits cater for finger and toenail care, and others will include hair care essentials and shaving essentials.

A typical ten piece men’s manicure set will include the following:

Finger nail clippers – a stainless steel fingernail clipper (the smaller nail clipper).

Toenail clippers – a sturdy stainless steel clipper that will cut through the toughest toenails (the larger nail clipper).

Small pair of scissors – sturdy construction from stainless steel, that can be used for cutting any nails, nose hair, ear hairs and facial hairs.

File or emery board (or dolphin nail file) – to trim the side of the fingernails and toenails and made from either steel, or sandpaper on a timber back.

Tweezers -stainless steel tweezers for any job that one needs tweezers.

Cuticle tool – usually made form plastic for massaging cuticles.

Comb -usually made from plastic for grooming the hair (earlier kits had metal combs)

Shaver – for shaving facial hair (and any other hair for removal), usually a disposable style razor.

Shaver blades – to ensure that blunt blades can be replaced

Small pocket knife – for any job that a small pocket knife is required.

The entire kit is kept in a compartmentalized zip bag for safe and easy storage and quick access.

Some of the items are designed with improvements, like rounded ends on the scissor, tweezers and clippers to avoid skin damage when in use. Longer handles on the clippers for easier use.

The range of prices that men’s manicure sets and kits attract is interesting. The buyer should be aware that some higher price kits are priced as fashion items, rather than necessary, practical equipment for proper grooming. Travel kits are usually much more compact, so that they take up less space in the suitcase. Sometimes the components are a little smaller, but they will do the job just as well as other manicure sets.

The men’s manicure sets or kits are available form health, chemist and pharmacy store and online seller.

Below are the Remington DA307BLK Foil Shaver Pros and Cons as experienced and described by its users.

Remington DA307BLK Positive Reviews Summary

According to satisfied buyers who have average beard with slightly curly whiskers, the DA307BLK Electric Shaver shaves fast and close with minimum irritation.

The trimmer is efficient in cutting off hairs and polish with the foil cutters afterwards. The trimmer works well for that purpose and for trimming side burns and nose hairs.

Some reviewers also stated that this Remington Electric Shaver gives as close a shave as much higher-priced shavers. It has good longevity, shaves well and the price is right.

Remington DA307BLK Negative Reviews Summary

On the downside, some reviewers complained that the Remington Electric Shaver works okay on the face, but down by the chin and neck is where the problems come in.

It doesn’t handle that well, and some users find themselves using a standard razor to shave about once a week because it just doesn’t do a good job.

The little pop-up attachment is a hassle to get all the neck hairs too. The shave quality was never very good.

The other shortcoming of the DA307BLK is that it doesn’t have a central slotted head that helps pick up slightly curly hairs, so every couple of days, the users need to look closely for curly hairs that the shaver has missed.
