Radiation Burn and Educating the Medical CommunityI gave a friend of mine, and fellow patient, a bottle of Mother Earth Co-op’s Medicinal Massage and Holy Oil, as she had breast cancer and was undergoing radiation treatments. my friend used the oils, as per directions, and after a few weeks, her doctor and the technicians commented on how great her skin was holding up during her treatment. Marie explained that the holy oil seemed to work wonders for her and commented on how much it soothed and healed her burned skin, erased her headaches, and helped her sleep. she said her doctor then reprimanded her for using something that she had not gotten through her. Marie continued to use the holy oil throughout her treatment, but felt she had to lie to her medical team. it is hard to imagine that the very people who are supposed to be caring for their patients are creating a situation in which a patient, whom was already suffering, felt they had to lie to continue doing something that was helping them make their treatment more humane and bearable.
First, they were delighted with regard to the minimal trauma to her skin, but then were upset that whatever she was using was not purchased through their system, and nor was it considered a pharmaceutical. maybe medicine should be more about healing and mixing Eastern and Western medicines with alternative and natural therapeutics, and less about worrying over a natural plant based medicine that a patient found beneficial and actually works. One would think her caregivers would have been happy she found a product that took some of the sting out of a situation that was already bad enough. after a few discussions, Marie was able to educate her medical team, especially when they were seeing results. We should always be encouraged to be honest with our medical team, help educate others, and know that you will get the very best treatment for your illness, regardless of politics.
Cannabis extract medicines were produced by Eli Lilly, Parke-Davis, Brothers Smith (Smith Brothers), Squibb, Tildens, and several North American and European companies and apothecaries. throughout that time, there was not one reported death from cannabis or its extract medicines and virtually no abuse or mental disorders reported, except for first-time users occasionally feeling disoriented or overly introverted.
Cannabis was North America’s primary analgesic for over 60 years until the rediscovery of aspirin around 1900. from 1842 to 1900, cannabis made up half of all medicine prescribed and sold, with virtually no fear of side effects or death as most pharmaceuticals have. In 1839, the report on the Multiple uses of Cannabis by Dr. W.B. O’Shaugnessy, one of the most respected members of the Royal Academy of Sciences, was just as important to mid-19th Century Western medicine as the discoveries of antibiotics (like penicillin and Terramycin) were to mid-20th Century medicine.
Our first Annual Medical Halloweed Cup is October 29th, so make sure to check your local dispensary to get your limited, numbered judge or general admission tickets before they are all gone!

COCO LOCO MEDICINE MINT SQUARES(Bars)
1/2 cup cannabutter*1/4 cup cannabutter*1/4 cup white sugar3 tbsp. milk1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa2 tbsp. vanilla custard powder1 large egg (beaten)1/2 tsp. peppermint extract1 tsp. vanilla extract2 cups powdered sugar**2 cups Graham cracker crumbs4-oz. semisweet chocolate1 cup coconut (shredded)1 tbsp. cannabutter*1/2 cup walnuts (coarsely chopped)
Grease a 9×9-inch (23×23 cm) pan. BOTTOM LAYER: In a saucepan over a low heat, melt cannabutter. Stir in the sugar and cocoa powder and then gradually whisk in the beaten egg. Cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens (1 to 2 minutes). Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract, graham cracker crumbs, coconut, and chopped nuts. Press the mixture evenly into the prepared pan. Cover and refrigerate until firm (about an hour).
FILLING: In an electric mixer (or with a hand mixer), cream the cannabutter. Beat in the remaining ingredients. If desired, add a little green food coloring and beat until the filling is uniform in color. If the mixture is too thick to spread, add a little more milk. Spread the filling over the bottom layer, cover, and refrigerate until firm (about 30 minutes).
TOP LAYER: In a heatproof bowl over a saucepan of simmering water, melt the chocolate and cannabutter. Spread over the filling and refrigerate. makes about 25 squares.

“KIEF” is an age old way of extracting trichomes from plant material. Kief is the product derived from the kiefing process. Kiefing is a method in which you rub dry trim, buds, and small leaves with crystals on them over a silk screen. the THC glands will form a powder that comes through the screen, which is then used in cooking or for smoking. it is usually a pale green to light brown dependant on the strain of cannabis. Kief powder that is pressed together is called hash.
Note: Kief boxes are sold at some smoke shops and are easier to work with than silk screens. In a kief box, the screen is above the collection drawer allowing the THC glands to pass through the screen and into the collection drawer. this makes it easy and compact for the average user to collect the kief and use for smoking or cooking.

Natural sleep aids are a good way to cure insomnia or any other sleep deprivations that people can suffer from. Also as they are 100% natural they do not have the side effects that prescribed drugs can cause to certain people and they also do not have as many medications, which is good for people that suffer with certain allergies to different drugs.
There are many different types of natural sleep aids that can be more effective or not depending on the person suffering because of this it is best to try various different sleep aids to find out what one is the best for you, your health and also what one works quicker for you. Natural sleep aids can be found in herbs, relaxation techniques and also your day to day diet.
Herbs are a very effective sleep aid depending on the use you give them and the dosage you take. these herbs can be different types which can include valerian which should normally be taken about half an hour before bed and can normally be taken as an infusion or tea. Melatonin is also a very effective aid and must also be taken about half hour before going to bed.
Relaxation techniques are also a very effective method of relieving insomnia or sleep deprivation. these techniques can include deep breathing exercises, walking, reading a book for enjoyment, taking a warm shower or bath and meditation. If these techniques are carried out not long before you go to bed you will find that your body and mind are a lot more relaxed and you will find that you sleep a lot quicker.
Your diet can also affect the way you sleep and can be one of the main causes for insomnia or sleep deprivation. by making small changes in your diet, for example, a lower intake of caffeine, especially in the afternoons and evenings, and not eating as much before you go to bed, your body will be put under less strain of digestion and will be more relaxed.
I believe that we as a people do not know the horrors behind what we eat. Millions of animals are suffering everyday for unnecessary reasons. it is just the simple greed of american business. trying to make every dollar possible and spending as little as possible. I am not saying do completely away with meat but boycott non-organic industries for only a week and lets stand together to make a change. Chickens are given chemicals so they only live for a week until they are ready to be killed. They chemicals also deform them and make them so fat in some cases that there legs break under their massive weight of their bodies. They never see sunlight and are crammed so tightly together that workers cut off their beaks with molten hot razor blades so that they do not intrude into other chickens. They are never fed and only live off of antibiotics. when they are going to the slaughterhouses they are thrown into trucks by whatever is convenient at the time, wings, legs, it doesn't matter. once they arrive they are hung upside down by their feet on this huge conveyor belt type thing with thousands of other chickens. They are carried to have their necks slit while fully conscious. from there on they are dipped in boiling water, some still alive and alert that have somehow missed the blade, for the easier removal of feathers. They are then packaged and sent to wherever. Cows never see sunlight either. They have their necks slit in an open area with gallons of blood from their cousins killed before them. Their insides are hanging out of their neck while they slip and struggle. what does eggs and milk take its place in this you ask? well its just as bad as meat. this is not from a vegetarians point of view and not a lie. these things happen everyday and what more proof than tape? I give you these websites that will tell you everything.
Do you realize it would take around 350 years to reach 150 with 30k a month?
Why does it seem that people are always looking for shortcuts for weightloss, when they really should just eat right and get a bit of exercise? is there something I'm not following in the logic?
People like shortcuts, whats wrong with shortcuts?
And people who are trying to improve their health
because they are wanting to lose weight probably
don't have a lot of time to devote to exercising for
a whole hour or however long.
Because here in America, we are lazy and want everything really quick and really easy.
Time is of the essence, haven't you noticed?
I think that once people decide to go on a weight loss program..they want to get to it fast..see results fast..get it happening before they lose the courage to do so.It does take a lot of courage to go through a massive life style change such as a strict diet.It takes one out of their comfort zone and they want to see something happening right away so that their suffering will make some sense to them…Just my theory thats all.
The logical answer is they are just trying to please others like their girlfriend etc.they need to realize that if that person accepted them they would not be having this problem.or they are just trying to draw attention, fit into clothes or resist taunting.
Because we want a miracle pill to make us this. Weight loss is hard work and takes dedication. I'm fat and I know the only to get thinner is to regularly exercise and eat a balanced diet. even with that knowledge, I struggle with my weight.
I suppose I should stop playing around on the computer, get my fat tushy up and exercise!
No, you're dead on!
People are just hoping that someone will enlighten them and tell them that you only have to sit on your couch and eat potato chips to lose weight.
nah its not you . everyone is always looking for a magic pill and the easy way out. its human nature that people are just lazy!
Because fat people are lazy.
First of all 'fat' is the result of overeating which I think is the result of all the 'fast food' you can buy now and the sweets/junk/desserts that are so addicting. And you always want to look good and if you can have your cake and eat it too there is a shortcut to weight loss. But not, only in hopes and dreams that someday there will be a 'pill' to melt fat. no logic required, it is a mental illness.
Because we all want to look like you silly – NOT!
Because they are FAT and LAZY. they want everything handed to them.
It's the modern lifestyle. Everything is a shortcut. Instant gratification! why work hard when you DESERVE to get this stuff RIGHT NOW!
Same reason why credit card debt is rampant.
Mainly because of being lazy, another reason people want immediate results not 5 weeks down the road. People don't want to sacrifice eating habits; or simply people don't want to make sacrifices
That's a easy one-they want fast and easy. they want to lose weight with a pill so they don't have to do anything for it, and they want it off now.
beacuse they are lazy and no self dicipline
Desperation. fear of being hated in their peers eyes. Family being ridiculed. I could go on forever cause i have seen desperation ..
they didnt look for the shortcut to the fridge
because they are lazy.
Some people get into life-long habits that are really hard to break(and hard for other people to understand) Some people have slow metabolisms. People often get depressed and tired and have depleting motivation, because of lack of confidence. Other people look in the mirror and feel, why should I try I'm not worth it. Some people are just very busy. There are heaps of reasons, But I think you'll find that rarely it is because they are lazy. not everyone is as well adjusted as you and you should keep these things in mind.
You sound like my b/f. I tell him that i am a woman of results, I want them now, I do eat good and exercise, and when i want to lose weight , they are vanity pounds, but i will take a helpful supplement to show me the results i want.
Strictly because i am stubborn and if i can get it with a pill, then i can get it faster.. .
SO in answer to the question – America gets lazier and lazier each generation… we came up with toilet that wipes our own As$, Lights that turn on and off with a clap, a car that will start from the key chain…..
Despiration, frustration, and as a by-product of our culture, instant gratification.
If it takes too much time to see results, we lose interest and view the entire endeavor as irrelevant.
Because it's just too hard for some people to eat right and exercise. so they turn to things like diet pills, surgery and whatever else sounds promising.
In this time and of technological boom, where every product and service offering has been enhanced technological enhancement, cosmetics has not been left too far behind. With consumers desire to enhance their looks cosmetics companies keep coming up with variety of product offerings to keep that consumer desire satiated. but at the end of the day, who is suffering? Of course the customers. why, you ask? The answer is not so difficult as you might think.
How many of us when buying cosmetics look at the label for the ingredients list? How many of us ever think twice about what chemicals are used to make the cosmetic we buy? How many of us ever think that the very cosmetic products we buy might actually harm our skins? Not many! There is a concoction of chemicals being used in these so called “beauty products” that actually act against the very reason for which we use them.
And the solution to this dilemma is even easier than we think. Natural cosmetics products! Yes, they are a reality. As the name suggests, these are 100% natural products that come without any harmful chemicals or ingredients. The result is a natural skin that doesn’t get injured of any harmful chemicals. Beauty is not just about applying cosmetics. it is more about using the right cosmetics and natural cosmetics fit the bill and justifiably so.
There is a whole list of chemicals or ingredients you should ensure are not present in the cosmetic products you buy such as anionic surfactants used in about 90% of foaming personal care products; cationic surfactants, commonly used in hair conditioning products; ethoxylated surfactants, lanolin, nitrosating agents, toluene, etc.
These are only a small number of chemicals from 100s of a list of harmful chemicals. So buy natural cosmetics and be safe!
