Reflexology is the art of balancing the internal organs through acupressure points on the feet.
In theory, various zones of the feet correlate energetically with the internal organs. For example, the area of the big toe descending down towards the heel of the foot on the inner aspect of the foot corresponds with the spine.
Try this simple exercise.
Roll your neck from side to side and observe where there is relaxed tissue and where tension exists.
Then, massage your big toe at the base and rotate it as if giving your neck a massage for 3 minutes. Massage the big toe on the opposite foot similarly.
Now roll your neck from side to side. what did you observe?
Many people experience the neck relaxing more after manipulating the feet.
At Aiki Healing, I practice a special type of reflexology that involves qi emission near the reflexology zones of the feet. Qi emission is an energetic art of allowing energy to flow from the practitioner to the client.
Although this method is performed primarily off-the-body without massage, it is deeper than traditional reflexology as it allows deeper stimulation of the energy meridians that exist in the feet and that correlate with internal organs. it is very effective for shifting imbalances involving the nervous system.
Thus, with this method, conditions such as neuropathy caused by diabetes (e.g. numb or tingling feet) or chemotherapy are greated benefited.
“… one, two, three….. shake your hands for ten seconds, stop shaking them, stay still, take a long steady breath in through your nose and slowly breathe out. Repeat 3 – 5 times, smile and relax…”
That is how easy it is to reduce stress and feel energised and light again.
There is a myth that you have to invest loads of money and time to learn how to manage stress. To a certain degree, that is true.
Companies invest money and resources to provide stress management training for employees. such training helps you identify work-related stress factors and provide you with tools that you can use to reduce job stress.
However, at a micro level, there are plenty of simple relaxation exercises you can do by yourself at home or at work, which do not require expensive equipment or take up a lot of your time.
The following four relaxation and stress relief techniques are ideal shortcuts to stress release.
Four Shortcuts to Avoid Stress
1. do something You enjoy. have you noticed that when you do something you enjoy time flies? as you focus and concentrate, your mind relaxes and tension leaves your body. doing something that you enjoy on a regular basis is the best way to manage your stress levels. even pottering around the garden calms you and alleviates stress. Aim therefore to fill your day with activities that make you feel fulfilled and rested.
2. Spend Your Time With Positive People. have you noticed that when you are around certain people you feel drained and emotionally flat? Whereas other people leave you feeling inspired, energised and rested. Wherever possible spend time with positive, optimistic people. Their energy will lower your stress levels.
3. Eat Wisely. Live, raw, wholesome and natural foods, such as dried fruit and fresh vegetables provide your body with the range of nutrients needed for maximum health. Wholegrain carbohydrates such as wholegrain rice are easier to digest than white, highly processed foods. They give you long term energy without affecting your blood sugar levels which can lead to irritable mood swings and cravings.
4. Stretch. Gentle stretching exercises, such as Pilates or yoga help you to relax and release muscular tension. Try this simple yoga breathing exercise and see how good you feel. Sit or stand comfortably and scrunch your face up like a dried prune. Open your eyes and look upwards, open your mouth, stretch out your tongue and roar like a lion. Repeat until you feel powerful, calm and in control.
As you can see, it is possible to shortcut your way from stressed to relaxed. All you have to do is regularly practice the four easy stress and relaxation techniques and see how relaxed and stress-free life can be.
Relaxation techniques for public speaking can be tremendously important in helping you to overcome the nerves that commonly precede speaking in public. You may be surprised to learn that even people who must speak in public on a regular basis often experience a case of the nerves. the difference is that they know how to utilize relaxation techniques for public speaking to help them calm their nerves so that they can give their speech or presentation.
There are many different techniques that can be used to help you relax prior to giving a speech. Progressive muscle relaxation is one of the most common and the most effective. You may have noticed that prior to giving a speech, it feels as though every muscle in your body is taut with tension. This can make your nerves even worse so it is important to learn how to release that tension. You can do this by relaxing each muscle group in your body progressively. begin with your feet. Flex each foot for about fifteen seconds and then release it. Do this with each muscle group as you move all the way up your body. You should end with the facial muscles. once you have finished you will likely notice that your muscles do not feel nearly as taut and that you feel calmer. Try practicing this technique a few minutes before you must give a speech.
Another effective technique for relaxing before you must give a public speech is deep breathing. have you noticed that you have a hard time catching your breath before you must speak in public? Are you afraid you are going to hyperventilate? If so, this technique is for you. to practice this technique, inhale slowly. make sure you have taken a full, deep breath. Hold the breath for several counts and then slowly exhale through your mouth. Perform this technique several times and you should begin to feel some of the stress and anxiety melt away.
Dry mouth is another common problem for some people. You may have difficulty swallowing just before you give your speech. Staying hydrated the day before you give your speech can be helpful it can also help to keep some sugarless candy in your pocket as well. Try sucking on a piece of candy just before you must give your speech.
Remember that speaking in public can be unnerving for many people. Learning relaxation techniques for public speaking can help you to overcome your nerves and speak in style.

I have a polycystic ovarian syndrome, and I have got alot of hair growing on my face and neck which is putting me in so much stress and tension, Iam threathing it once a week and i get alot of acne, my face is a mess so is my neck, I really have to do something about it, I have laser and electrolysis option, but I dont know which one works and its effective. I live in NJ bergen county. if anyone know any place and know which treatment is good please let me know.
If you live in New Jersey, it is the only state in the nation that requires physicians to do laser hair removal. It will be more expensive unless you can perhaps easily cross the border to another state. when you have psod, some places may refuse to treat, or tell you that it may not work. However, it does help to keep the hair growth under control with maintenance, usually touch ups every couple of months. You need to do a little research first, make some phone calls, and find a place that is sympathetic to your needs. my center does treatments with two years of touch ups, whether or not pcod is present. if you find a place that does off free touch ups and reveal your medical history, they will not offer the guarantee. Electrolysis is no better or worse than laser, the advantage is it works on white hairs, disadvantages, it is very, very painful, and it tales ten times longer, like 45 minutes just to do an upper lip, when a laser takes 2-3 minutes.
With the laser, your ingrowns will get better, even though the hair does not go away entirely, making your life so much better, I see it time and again.
Good luck to you!
